Connect your Spark camera
Zu3D Spark
From the sticker to your first picture.
Choose home Wi-Fi, pair another device, or connect directly to Spark.

Before you begin
Install the Spark-compatible Zu3D app, have your home Wi-Fi name and password ready, and keep your camera sticker nearby. You can read these instructions on a computer; a phone is optional.

Connect Spark to your home Wi-Fi
- Switch on Spark. Press the power button on the back. Wait for the camera status light to change from fast to slow amber flashes.
- Open setup in Zu3D. On the dashboard, choose Set up Zu3D Spark Camera, then Connect Spark to Wi-Fi.
- Scan your camera sticker. Choose Scan Spark QR code and allow camera access if asked. If scanning is not available, choose Enter sticker details. Type the Device ID and setup Wi-Fi password from the sticker, then continue.
- Join Spark’s network for setup. Choose Connect to Spark Wi-Fi when shown and follow the prompts. This connection is temporary while you send the camera your home Wi-Fi details.
- Choose your home network. Select its name, enter your home Wi-Fi password and choose Send Wi-Fi details. Spark restarts, flashes blue while joining, then shows a steady blue camera status light.
- Return to your home Wi-Fi. If your device does not reconnect automatically, rejoin that network in its Wi-Fi settings. Return to Zu3D and wait for Spark Camera ready.
- Choose Premium when offered. Select Activate Premium on this device to use one of your five included activations, or Use Premium only while connected to save an activation. Then choose Use Zu3D Spark Camera.
- Check the picture. Open a project and select Spark as the camera. Turn the lens rim until your character looks sharp. Keep your scene still for a test capture.
Connect another phone, tablet or computer
Set up Spark’s home Wi-Fi once, then pair each device you want to use. You can connect Spark using a phone first and move to a desktop or laptop afterwards.
- Install and open Zu3D on the additional device. Join the same Wi-Fi network as Spark. Chromebook users should follow the Chromebook guide first.
- Choose Set up Zu3D Spark Camera, then Find Spark already on Wi-Fi.
- Scan Spark’s sticker, or choose Enter ID / Key and enter its Device ID and Device Key. This route uses the Device Key, rather than the setup Wi-Fi password.
- When Spark is ready, choose a Premium option if offered, then Use Zu3D Spark Camera.
For your next session, switch on Spark, keep it and your device on the same Wi-Fi, then select the camera in your project.
Connect without home Wi-Fi
Use this route in the installed Zu3D app when you want to film on Spark’s own Wi-Fi. Spark’s network does not provide internet access. Install the app before you go offline.
- Switch on Spark. Open its setup in Zu3D and choose Use Spark directly.
- Scan the camera sticker, or choose Enter sticker details and type its Device ID and setup Wi-Fi password.
- Follow the prompts to join Spark’s Wi-Fi and finish setup.
- Choose Use Zu3D Spark Camera. Stay on Spark’s Wi-Fi while using its live picture. Reconnect to your normal network when you want internet access again.
Direct mode provides Premium while the live picture is connected, without using one of the five permanent device activations.
If the connection gets stuck
Setup timed out
Network switching can take time. Choose Try again when offered. If Spark has already joined your home Wi-Fi, check that your device has returned to the same network.
My device will not join Spark’s Wi-Fi automatically
Choose Help me connect manually. In your device’s Wi-Fi settings, join the network shown by Zu3D. Return to the app and choose I’m connected to Spark Wi-Fi.
Spark is on Wi-Fi, but another device cannot find it
Use Find Spark already on Wi-Fi and check the Device ID and Device Key. Guest or managed networks may prevent devices communicating; ask the network owner if devices on that network can connect to one another.
I cannot scan the sticker

Your included Zu3D 5 Premium
Each Spark includes Zu3D 5 Premium: permanent activation on five devices, plus Premium on unlimited devices while connected to Spark’s live picture. A permanent activation keeps Premium available when Spark is off or disconnected. Contact support if you need to move an activation later.
Keep the sticker’s ID and key private: they allow another person to pair with your camera.
